The Straits Times reported that POSB has launched a Fare Free Friday scheme, which will give 100,000 commuters unlimited free travel on trains and buses on Fridays, from 31st July until the end of 2015.
To qualify, owners of the POSB Everyday Credit Card or the PAssion POSB Debit Card have to link their cards with EZ-Reload, which allows automatic top-ups to their card.
There are already 50,000 card holders who have done so, and they will automatically be entered into the programme. The next 50,000 who do so will also be able to benefit from this initiative, which is in celebration of Singapore's 50th birthday.
The scheme is expected to help commuters save up to $15 a month and is estimated to cost POSB up to $7.5 million in total.
