The RBS Grand Prix Challenge Kicks off the Formula One season in Singapore with it's state-of-the-art F1 racing simulator for another year. Housed in an AT&T Williams FW30 show car, the simulator will be located at two downtown hotspots from 27 February to 14 March.
The FW30 show car has been tailored to fit an average sized person, while the computerised racing simulator comprising twists and turns of the world's best Formula One circuits, hides somewhere beneath the Formula One racer's silhouette.
The lap time of an average person takes around one and a half minutes, while last year's winner did it in just over 1 minute 13 seconds.
At the insistence of RBS on the basis that Singapore's young have the upper hand in terms of simulator game-related skills, all entrants must be aged 18 and over.
Participants and supports may head over to Ngee Ann City's Civic Plaza on weekdays from 9.00am to 6.30pm, from the 27th February to 6th March, or Raffles Place from 10th March to 14th March to compete for a spot on the leader board.
The two participants from each location with the fastest lap times will go on to compete alongside AT&T Williams F1 driver Nico Rosberg in the RBS Grand Prix Challenge Grand Finale on 18 March at the National Museum of Singapore. The overall winner stands to win fantastic prizes, including a pair of grandstand tickets to the Singapore Grand Prix.
Alan Goodyear, General Manager & Head of Global Banking and Markets, South East Asia, RBS, said, "Asia is home to some of Formula One racing's most avid fans and for anyone who is not an F1 driver, the RBS Grand Prix Challenge is as close as you can get to the real deal. The challenge is also an excellent opportunity for RBS to recreate the F1 experience for our customers in Singapore and the region, complete with some of the biggest names in the sport."
Amongst these big names will be AT&T Williams Chief Operations Engineer, Rod Nelson, who brings with him sixteen years of Formula One experience.
