A truck was stuck at the entrance of the underpass along Marina Station Road towards Central Boulevard on Friday morning.
The truck was vertically wedged between the road surface and the ceiling of the tunnel, blocking almost half of the tunnel's entrance and its cabin was nearly separated from its trailer.
A Land Transport Authority (LTA) spokesman said that they were alerted to the incident at about 9:00am while the police received a call at about 6:00am requesting assistance at the location.
The underpass was temporarily closed to traffic to facilitate repair works and checks and was reopened at about 12:40pm after it was certified safe for motorists.
No one was injured in the accident, but it was unclear how it happened. Investigations are ongoing.
