Volkswagen unveils the CrossTouran

Like the CrossGolf and CrossPolo, the CrossTouran features extra road clearance as well as plastic body cladding to give it a more rugged, off-road look. The front and rear bumpers get extra black protection cladding, which go along with the black grained protective strips on the doors, the chunky wheel arch extensions and the new side sills. 17-inch alloy wheels and matt aluminium roof rails complete the exterior package.

Despite the raised height and added rugged looks, the CrossTouran is not a proper off-roader, with the car gaining new suspension springs which raise the car's ground clearance by 20mm over the standard Touran MPV.

The interior of the CrossTouran has also been updated, with new seat cover patterns along with decorative trim in stainless steel look and a leather steering wheel plus leather trim on gearlever knob and handbrake lever among the changes. The CrossTouran will be available with the same engines as the standard Touran.
