Volvo has revealed more of the Bowers and Wilkins sound system that features in the all-electric EX90 SUV.
The designers of the car are said to have collaborated with the audio engineers at Bowers and Wilkins, even when the car was still conceived only as sketches on paper, so as to ensure that all seated within the seven-seater would be able to enjoy a realistic, 3D surround sound from the 25 total speakers in the cabin.
This 1,610W speaker system will thus be able to deliver music to your ears precisely as the artist intended, thanks to optimised speaker placements and studio-derived loudspeakers, a technology Bowers and Wilkins calls 'True Sound'.
Integration with Dolby Atmos surround sound technology will also allow creatives to place individual sounds intentionally in three-dimensional space, so listeners of podcasts or songs created with the technology will be able to experience a rich and detailed immersive sound experience with greater depth, detail and clarity.
Finally, the system will offer a variety of surround sound listening modes that allow listeners to tailor the sound to suit personal tastes. These include a 'Studio' mode, which replicates the neutrality and purity of sound in a recording studio and can be optimised for passengers in any seat.
An 'Individual Stage' setting delivers the sensation of an artist performing just for you, while the 'Concert Hall' mode will reproduce the acoustic ambiance of the concert hall of the city of Gothenburg.
