World's most powerful straight-six diesel engine ready to tear up local roads

Based on the F15 BMW X5, the brutal X5 M50d is powered by the world's most powerful in-line six-cylinder power unit. The 3.0-litre diesel engine generates maximum power of 381bhp and a maximum torque of 740Nm at 2,000 to 3,000rpm. The colossal power allows the car to hit the century mark in a dizzying 5.3 seconds, before climbing to a top speed of 250km/h.

Thanks to the powerful diesel engine, allied to the optimised power transfer, handling properties and aerodynamic balance, the X5 M50d set new standards in their respective classes in terms of sportiness, conceptual harmony and efficiency.
Additionally, the improved performance has not hindered efficiency ratings, as the average fuel consumption and emissions levels have improved against its preceding models.
The X5 M50d consumes 6.7L/100km travelled while emitting 177g of CO2 per km - an 11 percent improvement for fuel efficiency and emission ratings respectively.
As standard, the X5 M50d is fitted with Adaptive M suspension, which includes Sport-tuned suspension settings with a specifically tuned Dynamic Damper Control system, as well as an automatic self-levelling air suspension at the rear.
The highly exclusive aesthetic details are guaranteed to turn heads, including the special air intakes and exterior mirror caps finished in Ferric Grey metallic under the M aerodynamics package. These perfectly complement the standard M design 20-inch light alloy wheels.
The X5 M50d is available either as a five or a seven-seater configuration. The five-seater configuration comes standard with Alcantara-leather combination upholstery and Dynamic adaptive suspension package, whereas the seven seater configuration comes standard with Leather Dakota combination upholstery and Adaptive M Suspension.
The car offers an extensive list of standard equipment including - a head-up display, adaptive LED highlights, Surround View, cruise control with braking function and a premium Harman Kardon surround audio system, among others.
The new BMW X5 M50d retails from $467,800 (at press time) and is available for viewing at the Munich Automobiles showroom.
