Skoda has unveiled the all new Fabia.
The new supermini is now based on the Volkswagen Group's modular MQB-A0 platform, making it possible to enlarge its interior. It is also now 4,108mm-long, making it considerably longer than its predecessor.

Razor-sharp head lights and taillights incorporating modern LED technology accentuate the Fabia's dynamic appearance. The head lights come with LED technology as standard, while the full-LED variants, available as an optional extra, provide more light-intensive low beam and high beam settings, and cornering and adaptive light functions.
An important aerodynamic feature is the inclusion of a cooling shutter in the front bumper's lower air inlet, which Skoda is using for the first time in the Fabia's production. The actively adjustable slats close automatically when there is little need for cooling, improving aerodynamics and fuel economy.
During the Fabia's development, Skoda implemented new aero-acoustic simulation methods to reduce wind noise. Using Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations, air turbulence and vibrations on the side windows can be detected, both of which increase interior noise levels. These allow potential sources of noise to be localised and eliminated.

Smartphone connectivity is achieved via Wireless SmartLink without the need of a cable, in addition to inductive charging. The top-of-the-range infotainment system can also be operated by gesture control. The new Fabia boasts up to five USB-C sockets for charging mobile devices - one of which can be found on the rear-view mirror to charge a dashcam. The Skoda Sound System, with an additional amplifier and a subwoofer in the boot, is an optional extra providing better acoustics.
This is the first Fabia equipped with Travel Assist, which can be activated at a button's press and combines several assistance systems at the same time.
These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Blind Spot Detection, and Park Assist. More noteworthy, however, is the inclusion of Traffic Sign Recognition, and Predictive Pedestrian and Cyclist Protection, both of which are new features for the Fabia.
