Vettel reassures his dominance in F1 by equaling Schumacher's record

Newly crowned quadruple World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, crossed to the dance of the chequered flags ahead of team mate Mark Webber and almost 33 seconds ahead of Nico Rosberg in the silver arrows.

Just like in India last week, Vettel celebrated his victory by performing a series of doughnuts.
Following the podium positions was Romain Grosjean who brought home his Lotus to a best of fourth despite running longer stints on a two-stop strategy than the podium finishers.
Fernando Alonso finished fifth ahead of Paul di Resta in the Force India. Lewis Hamilton brought the second Mercedes in a best of seventh ahead of Felipe Massa in the other Ferrari. Sergio Perez and Adrian Sutil took up the last two points positions in ninth and tenth respectively.
Vettel and Rosberg took advantage of a slower starting Webber - who regained and retained - his second place till the end of the race at the first pit stop. Despite having a good start, Grosjean, who made a good start from sixth, played out a slightly different strategy. The Lotus pitted at the same time as Webber but performed three additional laps on his second stint, which wasn't enough to change his track position and he finished behind Rosberg.
Alonso and Massa were running on different strategies with Alonso taking up a pair of soft tyres for his last stint instead of medium for his last stint.
At the end of the 55 laps, as fireworks lit the Yas Marina Circuit for an added jolt of visual treat, Vettel reassured his dominance in the 2013 season by equalling Michael Schumacher's record of seven successive victories in a single season. If Vettel continues to claim the top spot of the podium during the next two races - he will equal the record of nine successive victories held by Alberto Ascari.
Already earning four out of eight maximum championships during the V8 era from 2006 to 2013 seasons, Vettel, at just 26 years of age has the luxury of age and time to shatter more records over the next several seasons. Provided his team can provide him with a 'flying car' by the hands of master aerodynamicist, Adrien Newey, and Renault Sport F1 of course.

Vettel secured his seventh successive victory after dominating the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with a 30 second lead over Webber at the first corner and bolted into the sunset with brilliant tyre management.
