The 10th generation Accord arrives at our shores thanks to Kah Motor. Featuring a lighter, more rigid body structure and advanced new chassis design, the new Accord promises new levels of comfort and performance.
The Accord is now powered by a new 1.5-litre turbo 16-valve DOHC direct-injected turbo with dual Variable Timing Control, producing a peak 198bhp at 5,500rpm and 260Nm of torque from 1,600rpm to 5,000rpm.
A host of new technologies, including high-efficiency low-inertia turbos, variable valve timing, low pressure loss air intake and high-accuracy direct injection, will deliver increased responsiveness while returning excellent fuel efficiency.
The Accord also features a new body structure which is lighter and more rigid, utilising 29% ultra-high-strength steel. It is the most extensive application of weight-saving material in any current mass-produced Honda. The new body structure provides for increased rigidity, cabin quietness and weight reduction.
On the inside, the Accord sports a more intricately contoured sport inspired steering wheel with deep-set thumb rests and available paddle shifters, as well as wider and more deeply padded arm rests in the front and rear. Newly designed seats feature taller shoulder bolstering for improved lateral support, and new high-accuracy seat padding with variable firmness improves seating comfort and support.
Also new is a premium 8.0-inch Display Audio touchscreen with physical volume tuning knobs, and more intuitive smartphone-like features and functionality including customisable app tiles and home-screen shortcuts, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Connected car technologies available on the Accord include wireless device charging, Bluetooth connectivity and USB charging ports.
Safety-wise, the Accord features a suite of Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistive technologies as standard equipment. Honda Sensing includes Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Departure Warning, Road Departure Mitigation and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Following.
Additional available driver-assistive technologies include front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree Camera with Smart Parking Assist System and Cross Traffic Monitor, Lanewatch, Walk away auto lock, Driver Attention Monitor and a Multi-Angle Rear-view Camera with dynamic guidelines.
Standard advanced active and passive safety systems include Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control, Anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake Distribution, front dual, side and side curtain airbags.
Under LTA's Fuel Economy Labelling Scheme, the Accord is expected to achieve fuel economy of 15.6km/L and a CO2 output of 146g/km.
The new Accord is available in metallic Lunar Silver, Modern Steel and Brilliant Sporty Blue, while pearlescent paints are offered in Platinum White and Crystal Black.
The all new 2019 Accord is covered by an exclusive five-year unlimited mileage warranty offered by Kah Motor. Customers that head down now will also get to enjoy an exclusive early bird booking discount worth up to $14,000.
