On 8th July, EZ-Link Pte Ltd unveiled EZ-Reload, an auto top-up service for the new CEPAS-compliant ez-link card, to be used in the second generation In-vehicle Unit (2GIU). Rebranded from EZ-Link's Auto Credit Card Top-Up facility, EZ-Reload will bring the same level of topping-up convenience and benefits enjoyed by commuters of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and bus rides over the past six years, to motorists.
Users can check their EZ-Reload status by placing their card at any General Ticketing Machine which will be shown as 'ATU-enabled' if the registration is successful. In addition, if the user's card is on EZ-Reload and has a low value, when inserted into the 2GIU, it will not have a 'low-balance' beep.
In the case of a stolen or misplaced ez-link card that has been registered with EZ-Reload, the owner will have to notify EZ-link's hotline immediately at 64968300. The remaining balance left on the card after it has been successfully blocked will be refunded to the cardholder's credit card account within 1 month.
New car owners with the new IUs fitted in their vehicles can immediately apply for this service at www.ezlink.com.sg. With this move, existing users of the new ez-link card, which is already linked to the Auto Credit Card Top-Up service, can enjoy EZ-Reload with the new 2GIU immediately.
