Land Rover Range_e prototype to be showcased at Geneva

The Range_e will be based on the Range Rover Sport, and is a diesel hybrid plug-in prototype. The powertrain of the Range_e comprises of a 3.0-litre TDV6 engine, mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, and a plug-in diesel hybrid system.

With this setup, the Range_e is capable of travelling up to 32km on pure electric power alone, before the diesel motor chips in to add an additional 1080km to the range, for a total of 1112km. Top speed of the Range_e is quoted at 193km/h.

The Range_e is part of a series of models that Land Rover will unveil at the Geneva Motor Show, alongside the Range Rover Autobiography and Land Rover Discovery Black & White limited editions, as well as the all-new Range Rover Evoque.
