Pioneer D-Series Speakers - delivering sonic excellence and performance

German poet and author Berthold Auerbach once said, "Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." While we may debate over the philosophical and ideological meanings of this phrase, it arguably neatly encapsulates the role and function of music in the driving experience.

Pioneer D-Series component speakers

The Pioneer D-Series Speakers TS-D1730C, aims to provide pleasure to both the driver and passengers with the ultimate in-car sound. The D-Series is a high-performance model that employs new technologies that make for an immersive audio experience, while greatly improving their installation flexibility.

The new D-Series component speakers are built on the 'Open & Smooth' Sound Concept. Open staging and sound characteristics enhance the widening effect that extends way beyond the space between speakers to create a surrounding audio experience.
A key technological development of the new D-Series speakers is the newly developed, high-performance Twaron aramid fibre cone for woofers with elastic polymer surround. Twaron is an alternative to Kevlar (used in the highest-end sound systems), and is used for the first time in Pioneer speakers. It is a high-quality material that offers stiffer dampening with quicker response.

Because of this, the D-Series speakers can deliver accurately detailed sound reproduction with a wider frequency range for deep and bold bass sound, and is able to express even the most subtle of nuances.

For open, smooth and multi-dimensional sound, Pioneer has also developed the tweeters for the D-Series with ultra-lightweight Soft Dome Diaphragm.

This allows the tweeters to produce exceptionally open and smooth sound quality, with better reproduction of higher frequencies. In addition, the tweeter is designed with a larger rear chamber and rounded over flange, for extended frequency range and wider dispersion.

Convenient, fuss-free installation

The D-Series speakers have also been designed for easy, fuss-free installation. Included brackets provide for installation flexibility and wide coverage. The component package offers multiple tweeter mounts and installation adapters to fit in some of the most popular, top-selling vehicles. The woofer mount adapters is a universal mount plate that is pre-scored with the proper cutout lines to match the shape of the factory speaker in most cars.

Without compromising sound, the new compact crossover has been redesigned with high quality components, a selectable, plus or minus-3dB tweeter level switch, and in-line speaker leads. Small enough to fit inconspicuously in many doors, the crossover also includes speaker leads for the amplifier input and both tweeter and woofer outputs.
