First shown in concept form at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, the new car has a sloping rear end, flared wheel arches, panoramic glass roof and hidden door handles a la Alfa Romeo. 19-inch 7-spoke alloys, said to be the largest in the Acura range, are offered as standard.
Inside, Acura claims that it will be able to seat five adults in comfort, and comes with extra utility capabilities such as expandable storage facilities and additional hidden storage compartments. A hand-stitched leather dashboard, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB audio interface, an iPod connection and a CD player, are all expected to feature, while satellite navigation, a new multi-view rear camera and adaptive cruise control will be offered on the higher end versions.
Under the hood, the ZDX will have a 3.7 litre V6 engine that produces 300bhp and 366Nm of torque. The 6-speed automatic gearbox will come with steering mounted paddles for quick changes, and Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive (SH-AWD) system will be standard across the range.
Pricing wise, the ZDX is expected to slot in between the MDX luxury SUV and the RL luxury sedan.
