AMG launches Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 55

In celebration of the company's rich motorsport heritage, Mercedes-AMG has launched its GT3 customer racing car in a highly limited Edition 55 variant. Only five examples will be made, with specific chassis numbers given to each of the five units.
Lacking FIA homologation also means that the car does not have an artificial cap on its power output. Therefore, the Edition 55 is the most powerful version of the GT3 racer, making 641bhp from an optimised 6.3-litre V8 engine. This represents a whopping 97bhp increase over the 'standard' GT3 racer.
A special finish has also been applied to the exclusive racer, with the special finish called alpine grey uni with red accents which complement the matte finish of the aero components in visible carbon. The famous Affalterbach crest has also been painted on the doors of the car.
The Edition 55 also boasts a Data Display Unit of the latest generation. The unit has a high-resolution graphic display to show relevant information like speed, engine speed, operating temperatures, lap times, gear and shift indication and other additional information.
Inclusive with the purchase of the car is an exclusive timepiece from IWC Schaffhausen. The watch maker has created a limited Edition 55 box that contains a Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition 'AMG'. The chassis number of the corresponding Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 55 has been engraved on the back of the watch case made of Grade 5 titanium.
