As SP Group's first major location partner for its EV charging network, Ascendas-Singbridge Group has installed 24 high-speed charging points for EVs in six of its buildings. These charging points are part of SP Group's first wave of 38 charging points, including both 43kW Alternating Current (AC) and high-powered 50kW Direct Current (DC) chargers that can fully charge a car in 30 minutes.
Ascendas-Singbridge Group is a leading provider of sustainable urban development and business space solutions with Assets Under Management exceeding S$20 billion. The group undertakes projects spanning townships, mixed-use developments, business/industrial parks, offices, hotels and warehouses. Headquartered in Singapore, the Group has a presence across 11 countries in Asia, Australia, Europe and the United States of America.
SP Group unveiled plans in 2018 to build Singapore's largest and fastest public EV charging network, with 1,000 charging points island-wide by 2020. More high-speed charging points will be installed at two other Ascendas-Singbridge Group properties later this year - Singapore Science Park 1, located at 5 Science Park Drive and Infinite Studios, located at 23 Media Circle.
There are currently six Ascendas-Singbridge Group properties with EV charging points, located at 80 Bendemeer Road (Hyflux Innovation Centre), Corporation Place, Techlink, Techplace I, The Capricorn and The Kendall. The charging points had been put into operation in phases since December 2018.
In addition to meeting technical criteria in terms of power supply, the selected sites are in strategic locations with easy access to a variety of amenities and food options. EV drivers can tap on SP Group's charging service through the SP Utilities mobile application, where they can search for the nearest charging points, receive updates on their charging sessions and make payment.
Mr. Manohar Khiatani, Deputy Group CEO of Ascendas-Singbridge Group said, "Through the partnership with SP Group, we are enabling our buildings to be future-ready, as we reach out to serve a growing pool of electric car drivers. At the same time, we hope to play our part in creating a more sustainable environment by being a part of Singapore's largest public charging Electric Vehicle network of the future."
This partnership reflects Ascendas-Singbridge Group's intent to cater to the advanced mobility needs of its high-tech and business tenants and is aligned with the Group's corporate sustainability goals.
