Audi is set to expand its model lineup

Audi is one of few premium automakers with an extensive line up of models from the small A1 to the flagship R8 GT supercar. Yet, Audi is convinced it does not have enough car models to fulfill its consumers, and is thus working on a host of new Q line models partially to tap on booming SUV sales.
A Q2 was previewed though the Crosslane Coupe Concept at the Paris Motor Show in September possibly called the Q2, to slot below the Q3. The three door, targa roofed Q2 - penned under new design boss Wolfgang Eggar - featured a new take on the striking and evolving three-dimensional grille and previewed Audi's intentions on a Range Rover Evoque rival.
Overlooking the Q3, the Q4, Q6 and Q8 are already under development. The Q4 will be a sportier, three-door variant of the Q3, while the Q6 have a more fluid styling compared to a more conservatively styled Q5. The Q8 will be a lower, sportier variant while the upcoming Q7 will rival the new Range Rover Sport.

According to Wolfgang Durheimer, Audi's new Head of Technical Development, there is still some room in the SUV segment which is growing on a worldwide basis. He believes (maybe) there is room below the Q3, Audi's smallest SUV, and also a potential lineup on the other side of the scale for more variants of bigger SUV like the Q7 and the upcoming Q8.
