Audi has announced a worldwide recall exercise affecting 70,000 cars, due to issues with its braking systems. According to The Straits Times, the recall affected the company's A4, A5, A5 Cabriolet, A6, A7 and also the Q5 crossovers models built between March and December 2012. The models are equipped with Audi’s 3.0-litre TDI turbo diesel engine.
The problem had been found within the brakes as the engine oil could enter the brake servo through the vacuum lines and make it rupture, causing failure, explained the German automaker.
Due to this, the stopping distance would be eventually increased and pose a potential hazard to the driver, occupants and other road users. The automaker claimed the problem could be fixed quickly and easily.
