Bentley commits to using sustainable aviation fuel
24 Feb 2026|36 views
Bentley Motors has announced that it will use Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for all customer car airfreight movements worldwide.
The commitment is said to apply immediately and represents a significant step forward in Bentley's global logistics decarbonisation strategy. The move is said to allow the firm to reduce its emissions associated with air transport while maintaining the high levels of service its customers expect.
Bentley states that airfreight is currently a carefully controlled part of its global logistics network and is only used when customer requests are time-critical or when market requirements make it necessary. The move to this sustainable fuel is said to represent a major step in reducing the environmental impact of these essential movements.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel is an International Sustainability & Carbon Certification-certified alternative to conventional jet fuel, produced from renewable or waste-based sources. Bentley states that the use of the fuel can reduce lifecycle CO2e emissions by up to 70% to 95% compared with conventional jet fuel.
The firm currently uses the sustainable fuel to cover all covers all customer car movements but is also exploring extending its use to additional logistics routes where airfreight may be required. The move is described as a major step forward in decarbonising the firm's end to end supply chain and ensuring its logistics operations fully support the ambitions of Beyond100+.
