Every structural weak-point is reinforced, through stitch welding, and a lightweight integral backbone structure is added to improve the chassis' torsional rigidity. The shell is strengthened with carbon fibre and the suspension has been upgraded with Macpherson struts and a custom coilover setup. Total curb weight is just around 1088kg.
The highlight of the Singer Porsche 911 has to be the 3.8 litre air-cooled engine. The flat-six unit is taken from the Porsche 993 model, but has been upgraded with Ninemeister (9M) cylinder heads, individual throttle bodies, 103 mm pistons, custom valve springs and retainers, a new camshaft, and a 997 GT3 crankshaft, oil pump and titanium connecting rods.
A Motec M800 ECU with data logging and launch control functions helps keep everything running smoothly. The result is a total power output of 425bhp and a 0-100km/h time of about 3.9 seconds. The transmission is a Getrag G50 six-speed close ratio manual unit with a lightweight flywheel and carbon-fibre twin-plate clutch.
Inside, the Singer Porsche 911 has also undergone a retro makeover, but there are still modern amenities like an electric air-conditioner, Sirius satellite radio, a Garmin GPS and iPod and Bluetooth connectivity.
