BlueSG to cease current operations on 8 Aug

Car-sharing platform BlueSG has announced that it will be ending its current operations on 8 August at 11:59pm. 

The "pause" is part of what the company is calling a "major platform upgrade", with plans to relaunch in 2026 with a new platform, a refreshed fleet with a new range of vehicles, an expanded network of pickup/drop off points, and offering greater reliability and smoother user experience. 

According to a FAQ posted on the company's website, existing customer accounts will remain accessible until 31 August 2025, 11:59pm. Remaining credits and subscriptions will be refunded to customers, though customers are advised to update contact details within the app to a PayNow-linked number by the 16 August. 

Launched in 2017, BlueSG was Singapore's first electric car-sharing programme. It was launched as part of the Singapore Economic Development Board and Land Transport Authority's national-level EV Car Sharing initiative pilot programme.
