BMW Asia and Performance Motors have announced the availability of the first ever BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, the long-distance comfort of a luxury sedan with the aesthetic appeal of a coupe. The 6 Gran Turismo was launched at the BMW Pavilion, which is a temporary pop-up showroom that showcases the BMW brand's extensive expertise in contemporary luxury, high-quality design and fine craftsmanship in a setting that brings customers on a journey of exclusivity and sophistication.

The impressive functionality offered by its body format and the high standards of driving comfort, spaciousness, and sporting elegance are among the key features that define the character of the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo. Other features include highly advanced equipment, innovative control and assistance systems, and a leap forward in dynamism and efficiency that provide the ideal setting for a relaxing journey.
Measuring 5,091mm long, 1,902mm wide and 1,538mm tall, the dimensions give the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo dynamically stretched proportions. The front end has a distinctive, powerful appearance, with the lenses of the standard Adaptive LED head lights extending all the way to the large BMW kidney grille. BMW's signature sporting elegance comes to the fore particularly prominently when the car is viewed in profile, thanks to familiar features such as the long bonnet, set-back positioning of the cabin, a wheelbase of 3,070mm, doors with frameless windows, and an elongated window outline stretching deep into the rear end. Rear lights with three dimensional styling add an eye-catching touch.

Handling dynamics and driving comfort in the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo both reap the benefits of the extensive improvements made to chassis technology. Self-levelling air suspension comes as standard at the rear axle, while ride comfort especially can be further enhanced by opting for the Adaptive suspension (featuring front and rear air suspension plus Dynamic Damper Control).
Two variants will be available at launch. The 630i Gran Turismo has a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 258bhp and 400Nm of torque, allowing it to go from 0-100km/h in 6.3 seconds. The 640i xDrive Gran Turismo meanwhile comes with a 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol with 340bhp and 450Nm of torque, with a 0-100km/h sprint time of 5.3 seconds.
Prices at press time (inclusive of COE)
BMW 630i Gran Turismo M Sport - $311,800
BMW 640i xDrive Gran Turismo M Sport - $389,800
