Esso petrol stations to swap out FairPrice for Cold Storage

Longtime Esso patrons will soon find themselves being greeted by quite a different space when they step through the sliding doors to get a drink, or simply make payment.

Aster Mobility Solutions 1, operator of Singapore's Esso fuel station network, has announced a strategic retail partnership with Cold Storage that will see it replace FairPrice Group throughout all Esso stations in Singapore.

No concrete timeline for the replacements has been given, with the company only stating that the convenience retail operations will be transferred "during the coming months".

Aster states that the new alliance with Cold Storage will deliver "enhanced in-station services that address daily convenience requirements and modern mobility demands". On its part, Cold Storage has already laid out plans for an "updated convenience retail model", comprising not just daily necessities and fresh products, but also "ready-to-eat meals designed for busy customers".

Both companies have also assured that they will continue to prioritise employees and customers during the transition.
