Assembly of the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 has started at the firm's Dunsfold facility.
The event was marked with Gordon Murray himself signing the carbon fibre monocoque of the very first customer car.
This carbon fibre monocoque serves at the heart of the T.50. Weighing only 107kg, it will hold a V12 Cosworth engine that delivers 654bhp at an astonishing 12,100rpm while weighing just 178kg. The T.50 will also sport a 400mm rear-mounted fan, designed to allow the car to make use of ground effect in order to deliver high aerodynamic downforce.
The T.50 is strictly limited to 100 customer cars worldwide, and every example will be unique to its owner, with no two even having the same exterior paint colour.
