GrabTaxi, South-East Asia's largest taxi booking mobile phone app, has recently launched - GrabCar - a complementary service that enables users to hire a premium car privately through their smartphones.


To make a booking, passengers select 'GrabCar' as their 'car type' in the GrabTaxi app. They will know the exact fare of their journey prior to confirming their GrabCar booking and payment is in cash.
In Singapore, commuters want to get to their destination in the quickest possible time. Through data gathered since the launch of GrabTaxi last year, GrabTaxi has found pockets of time when the demand for taxis is not fully matched by supply.
And, GrabTaxi saw an opportunity to fill this gap - without taking away business from their core user base of taxis - through GrabCar.
