Honda introduces the HSV-10 GT racer

The HSV-10 GT will be entered into GT class races, starting with the Japanese 2010 Super GT series in the GT500 class. The HSV-10 GT is the remnant of the planned replacement for the NSX supercar, which was canned due to the global economic slowdown of 2008.
Like the planned production car, the HSV-10 GT has a front-mounted engine sending power to the rear wheels. However, the V10 engine that was going to be used in the road car has been discarded, with Honda opting instead for a naturally-aspirated 3.4-litre V8 unit that produces 500bhp and 392Nm of torque.
The car, which currently possesses a racing livery of all black, will weigh in at a lightweight 1100kg, and features a double wishbone suspension all around, steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters for the transmission and a rack and pinion system with electric power steering.
