04 Apr 2014|3,702 views
Honda's Mean Mower has officially broken the Guinness World Records as the fastest lawnmower. It is based on a Honda HF2620 Lawn Tractor which underwent some modifications by Team Dynamics - a British Touring Car Championship squad.
As a result, the 1.0-litre agriculture tool now packs 109bhp and 96Nm of torque, good enough for it to average 116.57mph (approximately 187.6km/h) and break the previous record by almost 50km/h.
The successful attempt took place at the IDIADA Proving Ground, located in Tarragona, Spain. The lawnmower was piloted by Piers Ward from BBC TopGear Magazine, who has also driven in the previous record-setting attempt of 87mph (140km/h).
