JMEV delights with the Elight upon Singapore launch

Like moths to a flame, the Singapore automotive market is fast becoming one that Chinese brands are eager to sink their claws into. Therefore, it should be no surprise that yet another new name, JMEV, has become the latest addition to the scene.

A successful showroom launch at Telok Mansions was followed by the unveiling of currently the brand's only model available in Singapore: The JMEV Elight EV.

The JMEV Elight is a sporty, electric four-door coupe that rides low and offers a choice of five exterior and two interior colour choices

The Elight is described as a sleek, sporty four-door coupe (though you wouldn't be wrong to call it a sedan) that rides low and is front-wheel driven. It comes equipped with a 63kWh battery, and offers a total power output of 108kW and 225Nm of torque, placing it firmly in Cat-A COE territory.

While its performance may not turn many heads, perhaps this fact will: The JMEV Elight offers a WLTP urban range of 600km, which means more riding, less charging. What a "dElight".

Regardless, the car still needs charging after prolonged usage, and the Elight's DC fast charging enables it to go from 30-80% in 30 minutes.

But besides that, the JMEV Elight offers a host of standard exterior features. At the front, matrix LED headlights are accompanied with automatic headlamps, with the latter's height able to be adjusted. Its electric folding side mirrors also offer heating in the event of condensation.

Scoot a little lower, and the Elight also has flushed door handles with proximity locking and unlocking. Other features include a panoramic moon roof and frameless wipers, as well as 17-inch wheels.

Inside, the five-seater Elight's leathery interior is accompanied with both the front driver and passenger seat offering six-way power adjustment. On the dashboard, a central 14.6-inch multimedia screen is paired to a 7.0-inch driver instrument screen displaying information such as the current speed, odometer, and the amount of range left to offer, among other details. At its rear cargo hold, the Elight offers 410-litres of boot space.

The car also comes with a host of standard ADAS features that include the likes of a 360° panoramic camera, automatic emergency braking, electric parking brake, and cruise control.

Among the Elight's interior features are a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen equipped with a 360° panoramic camera and 360° Around View Monitor

Five exteriors colour options will be offered for the JMEV Elight: Aurora White, Marble Black, Moonlit Purple, Future Cyan, and Crystal Blue. As for the interior, customers can choose between Sandstone Dual or Midnight Black.

In the spirit of SG60, JMEV has announced that it will be offering the Elight at a promotional price of $156,888 (including COE), with a rather apt $60,000 shaved off its usual price of $216,888. This offer only lasts from now till 6 August 2025, so those considering a change of wheels will have to make up their minds, stat.
