Koenigsegg celebrates two decades of car making with the first 'Megacar'
13 Mar 2014|4,599 views
Koenigsegg introduced the automotive world to the age of 'Megacars' with the unveiling of the Koenigsegg One:1, at the esteemed Geneva Motor Show last week. The name is a reference to the colossal power-to-weight ratio of 1bhp/kg - a dream equation previously thought impossible.
In addition, the One:1 is the world's first homologated production car in the world with one megawatt of power (1,000kw which equals to 1,341bhp).
The 2014 One:1 raises the bar of performance and features new and unique solutions to enhance track performance without compromising top speed or everyday usability along with an added dosage of stunning visual appearance.
Features of the One:1 include unique track optimised aero winglets, extended venturi tunnels and side splitters, Le Mans inspired active wing configuration as well as optimised active undertrim air management.
Large air vents aid cooling, while the upgraded rear triplex suspension feature carbon bevel springs and active shock absorbers and ride height. The upgraded revolutionary Koenigsegg Aircore carbon fibre wheels are shod with custom Michelin tyres.
In order to give the One:1 maximum flexibility when it comes to power delivery, Koenigsegg has implemented its patented variable turbo geometry technology in the One:1 Program. This technology gives improved response and higher low end torque than otherwise possible. As an example, the One:1 engine has over 1,000Nm of torque between 3,000rpm to 7,500rpm from a modified turbocharged 5.0-litre V8.
