The latest generation Freelander was launched in 2007, and received a mid-life facelift in 2010, and Land Rover has achieved the 250,000th milestone in less than four years. Demand for Land Rover's entry-level model is also rising, with sales for the Freelander up by 22% from the period of April 2010 to February 2011, compared to the same period the previous year.
"This milestone achievement and the increasing sales for Freelander 2 highlights just how important this vehicle is, not just to Halewood but also for the regional and UK economy − around 70% of Freelanders produced at Halewood are exported overseas," said Halewood operations director Richard Else.
