Land Rover reveals exclusive Defender Works V8 Trophy II with 394bhp

Land Rover has done a Pagani by launching an exclusive version of the iconic previous generation Defender despite the model having gone out of production years ago. The expedition inspired Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II, made to honour Land Rover Classic's global off roading and exploration heritage, will be produced in a limited run of only 25 units.
Each vehicle will sport unique camouflage representing the 23 locations that the legendary Defender has tackled over 70 years of adventuring history. These include places from The Camel Trophy, The First Overland and the G4 Challenge.
Besides the opportunity to purchase this highly collectible Defender, customers are invited to take part in the second exclusive three day Land Rover Trophy competition. Guidance from experts will be provided to compete in a series of points-based off road challenges. The winner who emerges from the three day competition will walk away with a grand prize.
The car differs greatly the run of the mill Defender which is powered by a wheezy diesel engine whose zero to 100 time can be measured with a calendar. Under the bonnet of this Defender is a 5.0-litre V8 petrol which produces 394bhp and 515Nm of torque coupled to an eight speed ZF automatic transmission.
Each model will also undergo a comprehensive rebuild with uprated suspension, steering enhancements and uprated brakes. The 90 and 110 station wagon bodies will be offered, as well as a 110 Double Cab Pick-Up.
To tackle tough terrain, a range of exterior enhancements have also been done. At the front, a protective A-frame houses a winch ahead of the bespoke front grille. The black bonnet features a satin finish to reduce glare in bright conditions, while a powerful full-width 1.27m LED light bar provides ultimate visibility in all-terrain conditions at night.
In the interior, Recaro sports seats are present, finished in high quality black and white Windsor leather with contrast stitching, combining support and comfort. Leather trim also extends to the dashboard, doors and headlining, ensuring a bespoke handcrafted feel.
