The new Volkswagen Polo will officially gallop into our island on the 11th of October. The facelifted supermini has been refined both visually and technically, while the assistance and infotainment systems, along with the new generation power unit, have been largely improved.

A new chrome trim, which acts as a design detail, connects the two fog lights and makes the Polo appear wider, while at the same time, the visual focus is lowered by the trim.
Inside, many ergonomic and visual improvements have been made including a new three-spoke steering wheel, a redesigned gear lever and an attention grabbing instrument cluster.
The revised layout of controls on the centre console is very intuitive. The radio system is also new and is supported by a second generation Modular Infotainment System (MIB) that is also found in the larger Golf.
Apart from offering full control of the infotainment system via the 5.0-inch touchscreen, the system includes an auxiliary input and SD card interfaces - complemented by a total of six speakers. An innovative driving style analyser actively monitors the driver's behaviour and suggests tweaks to the driving style for a more economical commute.

The start-stop system and regenerative braking are new to the Polo and contribute to a fuel economy of 4.7L/100km.
The turbocharged powerplant has 88bhp and 160Nm of pulling power to complete the benchmark century sprint in 10.8 seconds, before continuing to climb to a top speed of 184km/h.
A newly developed electro-mechanical steering system is making its debut in the Polo. The compact system is integrated directly into the steering column and offers a precise and agile response. A number of novelties are included with the Polo, including front cornering lights, automatic folding of the door mirrors when locking the car, and among others, a multi-function steering wheel.
