Lorry overturns after colliding with taxi on Outram Road

A lorry overturned after a collision with a taxi on Thursday morning. The accident took place at the intersection of Outram Road and Seng Poh Road.

27-year old Ms. Pazos told The Straits Times that she was on her way to work around 9:15am when she witnessed the accident. The taxi hit the side of the lorry, which spun around and turned on its side, she said.

She also shared that only the driver was in the taxi at the time and that there were two men in the overturned lorry. She called for an ambulance and reported the accident to the police. Both arrived in about 10 minutes.

Police said they received a call for assistance at around 9:14am. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that a man in his 30s suffered minor injuries, but refused to be taken to hospital.

When contacted, the Digital Content Publisher said that she has seen "many near misses" at this intersection in the one-and-a-half years she has worked in the area.

Once she saw a bus go onto the road divider while trying to avoid a car, and it nearly overturned, she said.
