MCF hangs out with 3M to learn more about car care

More than 30 MyCarForum (MCF) members and their families gathered at the 3M Singapore headquarters on Saturday morning to attend the MCF Hangout with 3M.

Conducted at the new 3M Technologies headquarters at 10 Ang Mo Kio Street 65 Techpoint #01-01 Singapore (569059), the 3M Car Clinic gave MCF members a change to learn about several quick fixes that can be done using a range of 3M products.

These quick fixes can be done to remedy several problems that drivers will likely face over the course of driving their car, such as scuffs and scratches on the car's paintwork. 

During the event, 3M staff were on hand to introduce participants to the wide range of 3M products, as well as to lead participants through a series of hands-on activities to demonstrate the products, ranging from learning the best practices when washing the car, learning how to identify and remedy scratches, head light renewal as well as on-the-go cleaning that offers maximum convenience.

In preparation for a thorough car wash, the 3M Perfect-It III Cleaner Clay is ideal for performing clay bar treatment on the car's exterior surfaces to remove dust and contaminants.

The clay bar can be used effectively on paint, glass and chrome, when used with a water-based lubricant. Car wash products such as a car wash sponge and super absorbent cloth are also available from 3M. 

The specialist from 3M also demonstrated how the 3M Scratch & Scuff Removal Kit can be used to effectively remedy scratches on the car's surface. The easy-to-use kit is an affordable and easy means of restoring shine and gloss to lightly scratched and scuffed painted areas of your vehicle. It features 3M abrasives and application pads, and can be done quickly and easily, with no tools required. 

Additionally, MCF members were introduced to the 3M Quick Headlight Renewal kit, a convenient two-step process to help remove light haziness and yellowing, and the 3M Glass Cleaner, which is effective in cutting through stubborn grit and grime on windshields and windows.

Finally, participants also got to try out the 3M Waterless Wash and Wax, and on-the-go product useful in cleaning off any stains on the car, such as bird droppings and any light dirt and dust on all exterior surfaces.

The product sprays out as white foam with uniform generous coverage, making it easy to clean up and avoid residue from any missed spots. With no water required, it's a simple matter of spraying on, waiting a short while for the product to take effect, and subsequently wiping clean for a streak-free finish.
