Earlier this year, MINI set the record for the tightest parallel park, which has since been outdone by the Volkswagen Up!. But now MINI is at it again.
Verified and approved by the people from Guinness World Records, MINI has set a festive themed record by delivering the longest wish list to Santa Claus. The 75,954 wishes were personally delivered to Santa at the Santa Claus Post Office in Rovaniemi, Finland.
To set the record, MINI got the involvement of 16 countries - 13 from Europe including Germany, Italy, and United Kingdom. The other three countries were Russia, U.S.A and Singapore.
Rauno Aaltonen was present with the new MINI Paceman to welcome the MINI convoy in Rovaniemi. The 'Flying Finn' and 'Rally Professor' who won the European Rally Championship in 1965 and the historic 1967 Monte Carlo Rally behind the wheel of a classic Mini demonstrated his skill at the wheel of the new MINI Paceman.
Rovaniemi is located on the 66th parallel inside the Arctic Circle, about 800 km from Helsinki and 2,600 km from the North Pole. A magical city at hear - it is possible to run into Santa Claus every day of the year in Rovaniemi despite Christmas being an annual affair.
