Munich Automobiles unveiled the new generation Alpina B5 Bi-turbo with all-wheel drive at its Teban Gardens showroom today. Contrary to popular belief, Alpina cars don't just come in Alpina Blue metallic and Alpina Green metallic paint finishes, which are reserved solely for Alpina models. Other BMW and BMW Individual paint finishes are also available for the new Alpina B5 Bi-turbo.

Another highlight is the full-colour digital instrument panel in LED technology featuring a distinctive Alpina design. In Comfort mode, it offers a classic look - instruments with a blue background, red needles and clearly legible figures.
In Sport mode, the display changes to a more dynamic style with green drag indicators. It is also possible to select an Eco Pro mode. A hallmark Alpina feature is the centrally positioned permanent digital speed indicator.
The new 4.4-litre V8 bi-turbo engine puts out 600bhp between 5,750rpm and 6,250rpm while 800Nm of torque is available from only 3,000rpm. This results in a 0-100km/h time of just 3.5 seconds.
The B5 hits the 200km/h mark in just 11.4 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 330km/h. Its engine is mated to a new generation of the eight-Speed Sport Automatic Transmission (ZF 8HP75) with Alpina SWITCH-TRONIC. Estimated fuel consumption is 9.5km/L, with a CO2 emissions figure of 240g/km.

This comprises an electromechanical steering system with variable ratio at the front axle and electromechanical rear-wheel steering with a maximum steering angle of 2.5 degrees.
At lower speeds, the rear wheels steer slightly in the opposite direction of the front wheels.
At higher speeds, they steer in the same direction as the front wheels for improved high-speed and directional stability. Another first is the introduction of BMW's xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system in the Alpina B5 Bi-turbo.
An extensive range of standard equipment ensures the highest level of well-being and comfort, including high end Nappa Leather, Comfort Seats and Four-Zone Auto Climate Control for effortless and safe driving.
Also standard are the latest BMW navigation, communication and infotainment systems, which can be operated using gesture control. Reputed for being ultra-exclusive, Alpina produces just 1,700 cars each year for worldwide distribution, dedicating only a limited number of units for right-hand drive markets like Singapore.
