New measures for commuters during Heightened Alert Period

The Land Transport Authority is implementing new measures to minismise the risk of COVID-19 transmission for commuters during the Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) period from 16 May 2021 to 13 June 2021.
For a start, taxis and Private Hire Cars (PHCs) will not be able to carry more than two passengers unless they are from the same household.
The authority is also suspending all forms of commercial car-pooling services such as GrabHitch and RydePool, which involve drivers receiving payment for ferrying passengers while en-route to their destination. Non-commercial car-pooling trips however, such as those among friends or colleagues are still permitted, so long as the prevailing permissible group size of two people is adhered to.
All commuters, whether they be on trains, buses, taxis or PHCs, are also reminded by the authority to keep their masks on at all times.
