One-millionth BMW 1-Series rolls off the production line

The commemorative one-millionth car, a three-door 118d, was delivered to its owner at a ceremony at the Leipzig Motor Show on April 12. The BMW 1-Series made its debut in 2004, and reached the million car milestone in just five years.

Still in its first generation, the 1-Series is currently available as a three- and five-door hatchback, a two-door Coupé and a soft-top Convertible with a range of four-pot diesels, and four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol engines.

Among the engine options available for the current 1-Series include the entry-level 116d diesel model that produces 115bhp, all the way to the top of the range 135i Coupe and Convertible models that put out an amazing 306bhp.
