Range Rover updated with new 4.4-litre diesel V8

The new 4.4-litre turbo diesel V8 engine produces 313bhp and 700Nm of torque, and replaces the existing 3.6-litre unit that produces 271bhp and 640Nm of torque. The unit is mated to a new ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifts, and enables the off-roader to go from 0-100km/h in 7.5 seconds.

The revised Range Rover range will also get Brembo brakes, with 380mm front and 365mm rear ventilated discs, along with aluminium six-piston callipers. Other new equipment includes a new CommandShift knob, and a new Terrain Response Optimisation Switch. There will also be new exterior colours and new wheels offered as part of a new Exterior Design Pack. A revised new bumper, grille, fog lights, vents, side sills, exhaust tips, and rear bumper complete the look.

Range Rover will also release a special Autobiography Black 40th Anniversary limited edition, which will be restricted to just 700 units. The special edition is finished in Barolo Black, with 20-inch alloys, chrome details, wood trim, and Jet/Ivory or Jet/Pimento interior choices. "At the top of the Range, the new Autobiography Black 40th anniversary limited edition offers customers the option of complete exclusivity with unique colourway combinations as well as striking interior and exterior design features," said Land Rover design chief Gerry McGovern.
