Honda is expanding its Civic Type R range with the addition of two new variants for Europe, the 'Limited Edition' and the 'Sport Line'.
Building on the dynamic performance capabilities of the standard Type R GT, the new models each offer a different style and performance proposition, further broadening the appeal of Honda's performance vehicle.
With the Civic Type R Limited Edition, Honda is unleashing the most extreme version of its renowned high-performance car.
Built as the purest expression of the Type R to date, the Limited Edition features lightweight 20-inch forged BBS alloy wheels with Michelin Cup 2 tyres, which are designed for high-speed track driving but will still deliver exceptional on-road performance. Modified dampers optimise this new wheel and tyre combination, and a recalibration of the steering offers maximum control and feedback.
To reflect the Limited Edition's extroverted nature, an exclusive new colour, 'Sunlight Yellow', is being offered along with a dark chrome Civic badge on the back. With the addition of contrasting gloss black paint on the roof, wing mirrors and intake vent on the bonnet, the bold colour scheme reflects Honda's sporting heritage and ensures the Limited Edition stands out as a unique proposition in the segment.

The second new addition to the Type R range is the Sport Line. Designed to appeal to a customer who seeks a stealthier look from their performance vehicle, the Sport Line features a low height rear spoiler, 19-inch alloys and a black interior, while retaining the outstanding performance that is a trademark of Type R models.
All models in the newly expanded 2020 Honda Civic Type R lineup, including the existing Type R GT, will receive a number of styling enhancements.
The front bumper has been revised with a smoother design, while the lower fog light surrounds feature a new symmetrical design incorporating smooth surfaces and sleek styling blades. Redesigned full LED head light clusters and daytime driving lights complete the cleaner styling direction that will feature across the Civic range.

The suspension for the 2020 Civic Type R has also been updated for more responsive and sharper handling. The Adaptive Damper System's control software now evaluates road conditions faster, resulting in improved damper reactions for both better handling response and ride quality.
For improved brake performance, the updated Civic Type R also features an upgraded braking system, with two-piece floating front brake discs and new brake pads. The enhancements improve thermal efficiency to reduce brake fade, increasing the car's capabilities during high intensity driving for optimised on-track performance.
