On 27 April 2025, at the Furama RiverFront hotel, the Singapore Motor Tyre Dealer Association (SMTDA) hosted its annual Gala Night 2025, which brought together key players from the tyre and motor trade industry.
The event recognised the achievements of businesses and individuals who have contributed to the industry, as well as bringing the community together and providing an opportunity for them to connect and network. Lucky draws were also held, with prizes worth over $12,000.
Graced by Mr Tay Beng Kong, the President of the SMTDA and Director of HT Group, the Gala Night 2025 also hoped to serve as a rallying point as the industry navigates new challenges in the face of digitalisation and sustainability. The Gala Night 2025 also hoped to encourage the involvement of younger committee members who might be able to provide fresh perspectives, energy, and ideas.
As SMTDA is well aware that sustainability and continued relevance lie in the hands of the next generation, it is committed to provide mentorship and leadership opportunities to offer them whatever assistance the SMTDA can offer.
Mr Tay further emphasised that the younger generations' voices matter and that their ideas will shape the future of the SMTDA. Adding on, he stressed that being realistic in the face of a changing industry and building bridges across generations will allow the SMTDA to continue to grow.
