The rebirth of an icon - the 911 Targa arrives in Singapore

Stuttgart Auto has launched the all new 911 Targa amidst a crowd filled with curiosity and anticipation. The latest iteration of the 911 sports car is the seventh Targa in its 50-year history, and the first to revisit the iconic styling cues of the original Targa concept with the characteristic silvery roll hoop - a feature that was missing on the past three generations.
Utilising modern kinematics, the new Targa revisits the timeless design of the original concept with a new, innovative roof system. Comprising of two moving parts - a soft top and a glass rear window - the fully automated roof system grants open-top experience in under 20 seconds.
Like the previous generation, the Targa is available with all-wheel drive only - the Targa 4 and Targa 4S. The base Targa 4 is fitted with a 3.4-litre flat-six unit that promises 350bhp, while the more powerful Targa 4S comes with a 3.8-litre flat-six unit that develops 400bhp.
Performance, therefore, is no less sprightly than its Cabriolet cousins. Equipped with PDK dual-clutch transmission and Sports Chrono package, the Targa 4 and Targa 4S are capable of completing the century sprint in 4.8 seconds and 4.4 seconds respectively.
Prices for the Targa 4 and Targa 4S start from $541,288 and $608,588 respectively (excluding COE).
