Less than six months after news first broke that BMW was appointing a second official dealer in Singapore, Eurokars - its distributor of choice - will launch its BMW showroom at 11 Leng Kee Road on 1 October 2022. A full-fledged aftersales facility will also go into operation concurrently.
Bringing all the moving parts of the new dealership to fruition at such speed was no easy undertaking. Addressing guests at the showroom's media launch on 30 September 2022, Mr. Lars Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia, playfully quipped that the paint on the walls hadn't dried yet, before going on to more seriously express his heartfelt thanks to the team at Eurokars Group for their dedication to the timeline set out.
"Everyone is ready", he declared, "and that means that on 1 October, there will be a new name for BMW in Singapore".
The freshly-minted dealership sees the culmination of a 19-year partnership between BMW Group and Eurokars Group, during which the latter has come to helm the MINI and Rolls-Royce brands in Singapore. Eurokars Group first clinched the dealership for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars both locally and in Indonesia in 2003.
According to Mr. Karsono Kwee, Executive Chairman of Eurokars Group, having BMW under the distributorship's belt is momentous because the partnership has come "full circle, completing our entire Eurokars Group BMW family".
Both Mr. Kwee and Mr. Nielsen also reaffirmed the customer-centric approach of both Eurokars Group and BMW Group as being at the heart of the extended partnership. Notably, Eurokars Group's portfolio will include BMW M cars in Singapore, on top of BMW and BMW i cars.
Up to 10 display cars can be housed in the BMW Eurokars Auto Showroom, which further includes a dedicated merchandise area, and one delivery bay. The Eurokars Auto Service Centre, located further down at 29 Leng Kee Road, will also be available to service both new and existing customers.
Crucially, however, the current space is only a temporary home for the BMW Eurokars Auto Showroom.
Plans have already been outlined for the dealership to move to a permanent premise - likely to be Eurokars Group's future headquarters at 11 Kung Chong Road - in the second quarter of 2023. This will also include Retail Next, BMW's very own retail concept, which is being teased as "an eclectic, warm and conversational space".
Thereafter, the third quarter of 2023 will see Eurokars Auto's BMW Premium Selection - in charge of certified BMW pre-owned cars - move into the 11 Leng Kee Road premise.
