Volkswagen has premiered the new Golf Variant along with the new Golf Alltrack.
The compact estate is now even more spacious, dynamic and digital than ever before. The new Golf Variant's exterior design has become more clear-cut and dynamic. The front end clearly shows its close relation to the new Golf, while further back, the Variant retains its typical uniqueness with a roof section that becomes flatter towards the rear, coupled with a coupe-type, angled rear window.

The Golf Varinat also now delivers 611 litres of stowage space (six litres more compared with the former Golf Variant). With the vehicle loaded up to the roofliner and the rear seats folded flat, the volume increases to 1,642 litres.
48V mild-hybrid technology is now available with the eTSI variants, paired with a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. The benefits of the new eTSI include a significantly lower consumption, as the Golf Variant is able to switch off the turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine whenever possible to coast along without generating any local emissions.
The second generation of the Golf Alltrack has also be launched together with the new Golf Variant.
The new Golf Alltrack features Volkswagen's 4MOTION permanent all-wheel drive as standard, increased ground clearance, and an all-terrain look including specific bumpers and a custom interior.
With this equipment the vehicle also proves to be a true all-rounder beyond paved roads and thanks to permanent all-wheel drive, it is suitable as a towing vehicle with a maximum trailer weight of 2,000kg.
In all other respects the Golf Alltrack technically corresponds to the new Golf Variant: In addition to the digitalised cockpit, new features include the optional assist systems, such as Travel Assist and the new IQ.LIGHT LED matrix head lights.
