Three-vehicle collision kills driver, causes pile-up on BKE

A 25-year old van driver was killed in a three-vehicle collision, which took place on Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) at around 7:30am yesterday. The accident, which happened near the Bukit Panjang exit in the direction of the Pan Island Expressway (PIE), also involved a lorry and a car.
The Straits Times reported that the van driver was killed on the spot.
Investigations are ongoing. The driver of the lorry, however, has been arrested in connection with the accident.
The accident also caused a huge pile-up of traffic that stretched all the way to Woodlands. The Bukit Panjang exit was also closed for hours, and reopened only at about noon.
