Toyota Auris hatchback gets a touch of Gundam Style

Toyota's in-house tuning arm has done some work on the new Toyota Auris, giving it a touch of Gundam style. Different from the recent fever caused by the Korean 'Gangnam Style', Gundam is a popular series deep seated in the culture of Japanese anime. The series features gigantic sized robots caught up in a galactic era of wars but ultimately like cars, they are machines. Hence, it was a breath of fresh air to see Gundam style placed onto a car. As mentioned afore, Toyota's in-house tuners Modellista took charge of this Gundam project and based it on Char Aznable, one of the characters from the Gundam series as its styling inspiration.
The model is fitted with an aero package consisting of a deep front apron with LED daytime lights, hood vents, rocker panels, a roof spoiler and a new rear bumper with a diffuser and quad tailpipes. Modellista also applied a foil wrap in red for the body and in carbon fibre for the roof.
The Char Aznable-inspired Auris also rides on a set of black 18-inch alloy wheels. Interior wise, changes includes red accents on the dashboard, steering wheel hub and the gear shifter.
While the main focus is on restyling, the tuners also upgraded the sports exhaust system and a lower and stiffer suspension as a bonus.
