Toyota Gazoo Racing launches motorsports-honed GR Yaris

Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) has unveiled a partially upgraded GR Yaris: The Type 26 GR Yaris, which, like its predecessors, incorporates improvements derived from insights gained from competing in motorsports.
With previous feedback about the conventional steering wheel requiring meticulous care not to touch the switches while turning 180 degrees, thus hindering the drivers' ability to place their palms in an ideal position, this newly designed GR steering wheel features a reduced diameter for improved steering response and a left- and right-hand grip shape that fits comfortably in the palms when pushing on the wheel during cornering.
The Type 26 GR Yaris receives an upgraded steering wheel with a reduced diameter for improved response and grip, as well as new Bridgestone Potenza Race tyres as standard
The Type 26 GR Yaris also gets improved settings for its electric power steering (EPS) assist function, ensuring it engages reliably even with high-grip circuit or rally tyres, or situations that require a high level of braking force. Specifically, optimised torsion-bar rigidity within the torque sensor and modified control software have expanded the steering torque detection range.
The model line also gets a change in its tyres on its RZ "High performance" + "Aero performance package" and "High Performance" trim levels, with Bridgestone Potenza Race tyres now fitted as standard.
In addition, seat heaters and a steering wheel heater, which were previously unavailable when selecting a vertical parking brake together with either the "Navigation Package" or "Comfort Package", are now available.
