The 24 Hours of Le Mans was held over the past weekend at Circuit de la Sarthe - one of the most anticipated race events in the world that is held annually. In current configuration, the 13.639km circuit is also one of the world's longest.
This year, Toyota achieved significant success, although missing out narrowly on the top spot by coming in second and fourth. The TS030 racing hybrid demonstrated its reliability, with a relatively trouble-free run in the twice round-the-clock race.
Anthony Davidson, Sebastien Buemi and Stephane Sarrazin equalled the marque's best record at the race, bringing the #8 car home to a podium second and narrowly missed the first by finishing just one lap down from the winning #2 Audi e-tron quattro.
The #7 car, piloted by Alex Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre and Kazuki Nakajima, had a more eventful race. It slide off the flooded track with Lapierre at the helm, but managed to head back into the competition within 30 minutes.
The trio clinched fourth place, and helped to set a 100 percent finish record for the team.
