Upper Thomson flood caused by burst pipe at MRT construction site

A pipe leak at the construction site of an MRT station led to flooding and a traffic jam at Upper Thomson on Friday, reported The Straits Times.
PUB said it received a report of a pipe leak at the construction worksite for the Upper Thomson MRT station at around 11:00am. The site is near the junction of Soo Chow Garden Road and Upper Thomson Road.
The Land Transport Authority tweeted at 11:30am that there was flooding on Upper Thomson Road (towards SLE) after Jalan Pelatina with congestion till Jalan Pelatina.
Officers from PUB isolated the leak at 1:10pm, the national water agency said in a statement. The water fully subsided and traffic returned to normal at 1:30pm. The pipe was repaired by 2:30pm, and water supply to customers was not affected.
The cause of the leak is under investigation.
