Volkswagen Passengers Cars has outlined its ambitious three-stage plan up to 2030 - accelerate, attack, achieve - to its employees, as well as giving them a first glimpse of the design of its future entry-level electric model. The brand plans to present the show car to the public at the beginning of March 2025, with the world premiere of its production model scheduled for 2027.
Low-cost, entry-level mobility in the electric era will be one of the cornerstones of the brand's future plan. Together with the production version of the ID. 2all, the new electric model is part of the new electric small car family developed under the umbrella of the Brand Group Core within the Volkswagen Group. The first new model will be the production version of the ID. 2all show car, which is set to reach dealerships in 2026 as Volkswagen's first all-electric small car.
Thomas Schafer, Volkswagen CEO, has also emphasised that its Wolfsburg plant will remain at the heart of the brand in the electric age, with intentions to produce the electric Golf successor - based on the new Scalable Systems Platform (SSP) - there, as well as the electric T-Roc.
With the 'Zukunft Volkswagen' agreement, the jointly agreed goal is for the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, as the core of Volkswagen AG, to become the technologically leading volume manufacturer globally by 2030.
