Volkswagen has unveiled the first details of the updated Golf GTI Clubsport, after unveiling the car at the Ring Boulevard at the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring.
Up front, the Golf GTI Clubsport comes with a redesigned front, with LED Plus head lights as standard as well as an aggressive new front apron. You'll also notice that the hot hatch now sports an illuminated front logo, a large spoiler at the rear, while its LED taillight clusters have also been redesigned.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport comes with a dedicated drive mode that optimises the car for the undulations of the Nordschleife
The car also wears a set of 19-inch 'Queenstown' wheels, which sports a design comprising of five oval semi-circles evoking the Detroit wheels which were introduced for the fifth-generation Golf GTI. Customers also have the option to specify 19-inch 'Warmenau' forged wheels, which weigh just 8kg each.
Inside, the new Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport now comes with a new multifunction leather sports steering wheel (with physical instead of touch-sensitive buttons), as well as Volkswagen's new freestanding infotainment system, complete of course, with the firm's IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT integration.
2.0-litre unit here produces a total of 296bhp, while in the cabin, the car gets a 12.9-inch infotainment system complete with the firm's IDA voice assistant
And underneath the bonnet is the EA888 engine, here delivering 296bhp and 400Nm of torque, which is sent to the road via an electronically controlled front differential lock. The firm's Dynamic Chassis Control adaptive chassis control system will be available as an added option for the GTI Clubsport. This power will see the Golf GTI Clubsport reaching 100km/h from a standstill in 5.6 seconds, and onto a top speed of 267km/h, if you opt for the Race package that is.
Carried over from the GTI Clubsport of before is the 'Special' driving profile, specially designed to hone the driving dynamics of the car to the undulations of the Nordschleife.
